We have expanded our curriculum to
include finishing techniques for beginning pottery wheel classes.
Finishing techniques will not only make your pot look better, it will help
round out your basic skills and get ready to learn advanced techniques.
Your pottery wheel class will be an instructed, hands-on experience and
includes clay, firings, and glazing your pottery. You will
make 2 to 3 pots in class. Your bisqued pottery will be ready to decorate
with glaze 3 weeks from class. Wear
clothes, bring ties for long hair, and put jewelry away safety. This
class is for ages 13 years and older and is limited to 8 students per
class. All our beginning classes are for 13yrs and up. If you have children under 13, we invite
them and you to take the

that work for you. We recommend when purchasing a 6 class package,
once a week is optimum. It always make a difference when you practice

Michelle (Mishy) Katz,
Master Potter, is a talented artist and well known in the Arizona community for her work
and unique clay learning center, Desert Dragon Pottery.
Mishy produces one-of-a-kind clay artwork, handmade tile and
functional pottery for everyday use. She
has a degree in fine arts and has worked in clay for over twenty years.
You can see Michelle’s work outside Phoenix City Hall where a chair
created for the CHAIRity 2001 auction was purchased and donated to the City for
the eastside courtyard. You can learn more about Michelle and her unique studio
an accomplished artist and Director of Education for
Art Based Classes. She
possesses a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Arizona State University and is
currently working on her Master and Teaching Certificate. Which is a
formality as Channin is a natural born Teacher with a passion for ceramics that
inspires her students.
